Sponsoring a PdP -project can be highly inspiring and inexpensive way to bring new ideas, technologies or business plans to life. This very special whole-year course is aimed for students, who are on final stage of their studies. After years of studying, the students have a chance to apply their whole academic education in practice. We are continuously seeking interesting proposals for the next projects.

Mission Impossible?

Every company aims to carefully select its project portfolio in new product development. However, there are always interesting ideas or intractable problems that are set aside, because they seem to be too far on bypaths, too risky or too futuristic. “But if we just had the resources, this would be more than worth of trying…” Ideal projects for PdP are future orientated, conceptual or aim to commercialize a new technology.

How to get started?

Even though the projects last from September to mid May, we are always searching for new and interesting project proposals. During the summer, we usually have face-to-face discussions with the interested parties regarding the project proposal topics.

What is needed from the sponsor is the idea for the project: perhaps a problem that exists with current products or technologies, or just some interesting new idea that cannot be investigated internally at the moment.

Signing up for PdP can be done any time before the end of August. The sponsor candidates can propose a topic and present it to the course staff. In early October the sponsor candidates will meet up with the teams and after a matching period the project will be kicked off. If no suitable team is found, the project will not go forward. The representative(s) of the sponsoring company are required to be part of the activities such as:

  • Writing the Project Proposal
  • The Sponsor Brief -event
  • PdP lecture & Meeting the Team
  • Organizing a Site Visit
  • One of the PD6 workshops
  • The Final Gala
